We highly recommend that you read the “About the Journal” section, which provides comprehensive information about our publication. All submitted manuscripts must present original research that has not been previously published or is not currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. It is crucial that all authors have reviewed and agreed upon the manuscript content. Additionally, any experimental research reported within the manuscript must have been conducted with the approval of an appropriate ethics committee, ensuring adherence to ethical standards. The editorial office reserves the right to reject manuscripts if it is determined that the research has not been conducted within an ethical framework. All submissions must be written in proficient English to ensure clarity and ease of understanding. Manuscripts may be considered for publication in various formats, including full articles, short reports, reviews, editorials, case studies, and survey articles. We do not impose any word or page limits for submissions to Science and Technology – An International Journal, allowing authors the flexibility to present their research comprehensively. Submissions must be made by one of the authors listed on the manuscript, and cannot be submitted by a third party on their behalf. The author who submits the manuscript is responsible for the submission and the peer-review process. To maintain the integrity of the publication, the submitted manuscript must have a plagiarism level below 20%, which should be verified using Turnitin or a similar plagiarism detection tool before submission.

We are committed to maintaining high ethical standards and ensuring that all published research is of the highest quality. Your adherence to these guidelines is greatly appreciated and ensures a smooth and efficient review process for your manuscript.

Preparing manuscript text

File formats

Manuscripts should be formatted similarly to a published paper, with file formats in Microsoft Word or Rich Text Format (RTF). Users of other word processing software should save or convert their files to RTF before uploading. The text should be single-spaced with 2.5 cm (1”) margins on the left and right sides, using A4 paper size. Figures must be prepared at publication-quality resolution, generated using applications capable of producing high-resolution TIFF or JPG files. Please refer to the provided template for detailed formatting guidelines.

Manuscripts for research articles submitted to Science and Technology – An International Journal should be divided into the following sections,

Title page

The title should be concise and focused, providing a precise, clear, and succinct description of the research conducted, while avoiding the use of abbreviations (must not exceed 20-25 words). The authors’ first and last names should be provided, along with their department, institution, city (including postal code), country, and phone number. Additionally, please clearly indicate the corresponding author (marked with *). The ORCID IDs for all authors must be added during the submission process. Please provide a running title of no more than 60 characters and include 3 to 7 keywords.

Abstract

The abstract of the manuscript should not exceed 350 words; please strictly adhere to this length limitation. The abstract should comprehensively but succinctly describe the paper’s contents to the reader, avoiding the use of abbreviations and reference citations. It should be structured with the following sections: background of the study, methodology, important results, conclusions, and implications of the study.

Keywords

When selecting keywords for your manuscript, please ensure that they are distinct from the words used in the title to maximize searchability and indexing effectiveness. Choose keywords that accurately reflect the main topics and themes of your research, ensuring relevance and specificity. Provide a diverse range of 3 to 7 keywords that capture different aspects of your study, avoiding abbreviations and acronyms. Consistency in word choice and alignment with the content of your manuscript are crucial for enhancing visibility and accessibility to potential readers and researchers.

Background/Introduction

The background/introduction section is crucial—it needs to be clear for researchers who might not be experts in the field. It should explain the background and goals of the research in simple terms, and if needed, include illustrations to help explain. At the end of this section, briefly summarize the main findings expected in the articles. Also, don’t separate the literature review into its own sub-headings; instead, weave important literature seamlessly into the introduction for a cohesive flow of information.

Methods

In the methodology section, provide a statement on ethical approval, labeled “1 Ethics declaration,” or state if not required. Organize methods into subsections if multiple are described. Include informed consent details here or after the data availability statement. Adhere to reporting guidelines like CONSORT and SAGER, found on the Equator Network. Offer clear experimental details, citing recognized methods, and elaborate on abbreviations upon first use in each section. Italicize scientific species names with discoverer and year. Mention programming language(s) used if applicable. Include a map of the study area and describe statistical analysis methods, software, and figure/map preparation details.

Results

In the result section, offer a succinct and clear account of the experimental findings, their interpretation, and the resulting conclusions. Aim to avoid redundant presentation of identical data in various formats. Tables and figures should be positioned immediately following their respective mentions in the text within the results section. The “Result” and “Discussion” sections can be merged together and in this case, you do not need to write discussion separately.

Discussion

Authors are encouraged to discuss the results in relation to previous studies published within the last 10 years and the working hypotheses. They should explore the implications of the findings within a broader context and highlight any limitations of the study. This discussion section may be integrated with the Results section.

Conclusions

This section should succinctly outline the primary findings of the research, emphasizing their significance and relevance. Authors may include summary illustrations to enhance clarity and understanding.

Acknowledgments

The acknowledgments should be placed at the end of the text and not in the footnotes. Personal acknowledgments should be listed before those of institutions or agencies.

Abbreviations

Abbreviations in the manuscript should adhere to SI symbols and those recommended by the IUPAC. After their initial mention in the text, abbreviations should be defined in brackets. Standard units of measurement and chemical symbols of elements may be used without definition in the body of the paper.

Citations in texts

The citation format can be written as follow,

Single author: (Sliwinski, 2024)

Two authors: (Smolana & Gromysz, 2024)

More than two authors: (Wang et al., 2024)

Same author in a single year: (Wang et al., 2024a), (Wang et al., 2024b)

References

The references should include only articles that are published or in the press. The references are each numbered and ordered sequentially as they appear in the text. Citations in the reference list should contain all named authors, regardless of how many there are.

Illustrations and figures

Figures and images should be sequentially labeled, numbered, and cited within the text. They should be embedded within the text and referred to specifically in the paper. Legends should be included from the main manuscript text file and become a part of the figure file, utilizing Arabic numerals for numbering, with figure titles limited to 15 words and detailed legends up to 300 words. The use of three-dimensional histograms is strongly discouraged unless they provide additional information. Acceptable file formats include PDF (ideal for diagrams), PNG (preferred for photos or images), Microsoft Word (with figures on a single page), PowerPoint (with figures on a single page), TIFF, and JPEG.

Tables

Tables should be sequentially numbered using Arabic numerals (e.g., Table 1, Table 2, Table 3, etc.). Each table should have a concise title summarizing its contents, limited to a maximum of 15 words. Tables should be embedded into the text file but in portrait format. Note that tables originally formatted on a landscape page must be reconfigured onto a portrait page or submitted as additional files.

Preparing additional files

Supplementary information consists of peer-reviewed material directly relevant to the conclusions of an article that cannot be accommodated in the printed version due to space or format limitations. Any additional files will be linked into the final published article in the format provided by the author but will not be displayed within the paper itself. They will be made available in their original form as supplied by the author. If additional material is provided, authors are requested to list the following information in a separate section at the end of the manuscript text file, separated from the cover page. Complete metadata, including description, author names, title, references, etc., should be provided for each supplementary file.
