Copyright policy

Shivaanya Publications is committed to promoting the dissemination of knowledge and advancing scholarly communication through our publications. As part of our dedication to supporting open access and facilitating the widespread sharing and reuse of research outputs, we have established a comprehensive Copyright Policy in accordance with the guidelines outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). This policy aims to clarify the copyright ownership, licensing terms, and permissions related to the content published in Shivaanya Publications’ journals.

Copyright ownership

Authors who submit manuscripts to Shivaanya Publications retain the copyright to their work, unless otherwise agreed upon or required by funding agencies or institutional policies. This means that authors have the right to reproduce, distribute, and publicly display their work, as well as to authorize others to do so, subject to the terms of the applicable copyright license.

Creative commons license

Shivaanya Publications adopts the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) 4.0 International License as the default copyright license for all content published in our journals. The CC BY 4.0 license allows others to distribute, remix, adapt, and build upon the work, even commercially, as long as they credit the author(s) for the original creation. This license is aligned with our commitment to open access and enables maximum dissemination and reuse of research outputs while ensuring proper attribution to the original authors.

Under the CC BY 4.0 license, authors retain their copyright ownership and grant Shivaanya Publications the non-exclusive right to publish, reproduce, and distribute the work in any medium or format, including electronic and print versions of the journal. Authors are required to agree to the terms of the CC BY 4.0 license as part of the manuscript submission process and to provide appropriate attribution for their work when it is published.

Exceptions and alternatives

While the default copyright policy for Shivaanya Publications’ journals is CC BY 4.0, authors may request alternative copyright licenses or permissions on a case-by-case basis. Alternative licenses, such as Creative Commons licenses with additional restrictions (e.g., CC BY-NC, CC BY-SA), may be considered if authors have specific requirements or preferences regarding the licensing terms for their work. Similarly, authors may retain copyright ownership and grant Shivaanya Publications a limited license to publish and distribute the work under certain conditions.

Authors requesting alternative copyright licenses or permissions should clearly specify their preferences during the manuscript submission process and provide justification for their request. Shivaanya Publications will review such requests on a case-by-case basis and may grant exceptions or accommodations in accordance with our editorial policies and publishing practices.

Permissions and reuse

Authors publishing in Shivaanya Publications’ journals are encouraged to provide clear and explicit permissions for the reuse and redistribution of their work, including any supplementary materials, datasets, images, or other content associated with the manuscript. Authors should ensure that all necessary permissions have been obtained for the use of copyrighted materials, third-party content, or proprietary data included in their work and that proper attribution is provided for all sources used.

Readers, researchers, educators, and other users of Shivaanya Publications’ content are permitted to reuse, adapt, and distribute the published work under the terms of the applicable copyright license (e.g., CC BY 4.0), provided that proper attribution is given to the original author(s) and source of the work. Users are encouraged to comply with the terms of the copyright license and to respect the rights of authors and copyright holders when using and sharing published content.

Enforcement and compliance

Shivaanya Publications is committed to enforcing the terms of the applicable copyright license and ensuring compliance with our copyright policy by authors, readers, and other stakeholders. Any instances of copyright infringement or misuse of published content will be addressed promptly and appropriately, in accordance with applicable copyright laws and regulations.

Authors found to be in violation of the terms of the copyright license or our copyright policy may be subject to corrective action, including retraction of the published work, suspension of future submissions to Shivaanya Publications’ journals, or other measures as deemed necessary by the editorial team. Similarly, readers or users found to be in violation of the copyright license or our copyright policy may be subject to legal action or sanctions, as appropriate.

Shivaanya Publications is committed to promoting open access, transparency, and responsible reuse of scholarly content through our copyright policy. By adopting the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) 4.0 International License as the default copyright license for our journals, we aim to facilitate the widespread sharing and dissemination of research outputs while ensuring proper attribution to the original authors.
