Shivaanya Publications is committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity, ethics, and professionalism in all aspects of scholarly publishing. As part of our commitment to promoting transparency and accountability, we have established a comprehensive policy for addressing allegations of misconduct in accordance with the guidelines outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). This policy serves to ensure the integrity of the research published in our journals and to uphold the trust and confidence of our readers, authors, reviewers, and the broader academic community.
Misconduct in scholarly publishing encompasses a range of behaviors that violate ethical standards and compromise the integrity of the research process. This may include, but is not limited to, plagiarism, fabrication or falsification of data, redundant or duplicate publication, authorship disputes, conflicts of interest, and other forms of unethical behavior.
Any individual who becomes aware of allegations of misconduct related to research published in Shivaanya Publications’ journals is encouraged to report their concerns promptly and confidentially to the Editorial Office or the Publisher. Allegations may be made by authors, reviewers, editors, or other stakeholders, and should be accompanied by sufficient evidence to support the claims.
Shivaanya Publications is committed to protecting the confidentiality and anonymity of individuals who report allegations of misconduct in good faith. Whistleblowers will not be subject to retaliation or adverse consequences for reporting their concerns, and every effort will be made to safeguard their identity throughout the investigation process.
Upon receiving an allegation of misconduct, the Editorial Office or the Publisher will conduct a preliminary assessment to determine the credibility and seriousness of the allegations. This may involve gathering additional information, consulting with relevant stakeholders, and assessing the evidence provided.
If the preliminary assessment indicates that the allegations warrant further investigation, Shivaanya Publications will initiate a formal investigation process in accordance with COPE guidelines. The investigation will be conducted by an impartial committee comprised of individuals with expertise in the relevant field(s) of research, and may include representatives from the Editorial Board, independent experts, and legal counsel if necessary.
The investigation process will be conducted with due diligence, fairness, and transparency, and will adhere to the principles of natural justice. All parties involved in the investigation, including the accused individual(s), will be afforded the opportunity to present their case, provide evidence, and respond to the allegations in a timely manner.
Following the conclusion of the investigation, Shivaanya Publications will determine the appropriate course of action based on the findings and evidence gathered during the investigation. Possible outcomes may include:
Exoneration: If the investigation determines that no misconduct has occurred, the allegations will be dismissed, and any necessary corrections or retractions will be made to rectify any inaccuracies or errors in the published research.
Correction or retraction: If the investigation substantiates the allegations of misconduct, Shivaanya Publications will take appropriate corrective action, which may include issuing corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern, as deemed necessary to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.
Sanctions: In cases where serious misconduct is identified, Shivaanya Publications may impose sanctions against the responsible individual(s), which may include banning them from submitting future manuscripts to our journals, notifying their institution or employer, and reporting the misconduct to relevant regulatory bodies or funding agencies.
Throughout the investigation process, Shivaanya Publications is committed to maintaining open communication with all parties involved and providing regular updates on the status of the investigation. Once the investigation is concluded, the outcomes and any subsequent actions taken will be communicated transparently to the relevant stakeholders, including the authors, reviewers, editors, and the broader academic community.
Shivaanya Publications is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of integrity and ethics in scholarly publishing, and we take allegations of misconduct seriously. By implementing a robust policy for addressing allegations of misconduct in accordance with COPE guidelines, we are committed to ensuring the integrity of the research published in our journals and maintaining the trust and confidence of our readers, authors, reviewers, and the academic community at large.
